Security Philosphy
The objectives of the Egyptian LNG security plan are to ensure the protection of:
- Protection against loss of life and injury.
- Protection against damage property.
- Protection against loss of production and supply of LNG.
- Protection against commercial loss.
Egyptian LNG has adopted a security philosophy that uses physical barriers, observation technology, guarding and procedures to mitigate security threats. The site security processes interface with Security authorities to maintain coordinated cover.
The site security processes are flexible and allow for security levels, and associated controls, to be changed as threat levels change. Egytpian LNG’s security levels will move in coordination with state security levels.
Port Security
Security of our port facility receives special attention. The port falls within the ISPS (International Security for Port and Ship) code and meets all the international standards.
Coordination with Authorities
In order to achieve our security objectives Egytpian LNG works closely with the Egyptian security authorities. Egyptian LNG maintains relationships with the following authorities:
Ministry of Defence: Navy, Military Intelligence and Coast Guard.
Ministry of Interior: Immigration Department, Port Security Agency, general security and State Security.
General security apparatus provide security beyond the Egyptian LNG fence line. Within the fence line, security is provided by Egyptian LNG’s own security forces.
