Marine Facilities

The Port is situated on east of  Abu Qir Bay ,40 Km east of Alexandria ,
The terminal and its approach channel are dedicated to LNG tankers from ranges
 of 40 ,000 m3 to 160 ,000 m3.

 
The trestle style jetty begins at the onshore plant and extending
2.4 km offshore including jetty head.

A LNG berth is located at jetty head and comprise a loading platform
with three loading arms and one vapor return arm.

Four breasting dolphins and six mooring dolphins facilitate mooring
of the  LNG tanker to the LNG berth .
 The LNG berth is aligned to 315 degree (from true  north )

Port  facilities / components

 

1- Anchorage waiting area out of port zone , dredged approach channel of length
4 km and 230 m width ,the depth of the dredged channel is 14 m below CD ,
turning basin inside port of 600 m diameter and berthing
basin of length 600m and width 400 m.

The Approach channel and port area are equipped with navigation aids
 with lights for night  time operation 

2- A detached rubble mound breakwater built of rockfill and interlocked concrete armor
protects the loading area from the prevailing  north-westerly waves . The breakwater
length is 800 m ,85 m width at bottom and 8 meter at top at level 7.5 m above CD

3-i  Trestle at loading platform area  is made of reinforced concrete slab and beams,
rested on steel piles which extend 20 meter inside seabed , the loading platform level is 15.70 m .

3-ii The trestle includes 2.4 km long concrete slab of width 4.2 m at level 8 to 12m above CD
rested on steel beams of span 40 m  and steel piles extending 20 meter inside seabed.
  The 2.4 km  concrete slab connecting the jetty head to onshore .
